GET RID OF DANDRUFF...NOW!

What is Dandruff?

Dandruff is simply dead skin shedding from your head at a fast rate. Almost everyone has had dandruff at some point to one degree or another. People with a strong degree of dandruff will experience an itchy scalp.

Causes

Skin cells that grow and die off too fast are the cause of dandruff, but doctors do not know why this happens. Some people with severe flaking have overactive sebaceous glands (whose task is to lubricate the skin with oils); others have an elevated level of the fungus Pityrosporum ovale, which is present in most people but it is in excess in people with the problem of dandruff. Other factors include family history, food allergies, excessive sweating, use of alkaline soaps, yeast infections and stress. Even the season of the year can contribute to the problem: Cold, dry winters are notorious for bringing on dandruff or making it worse.

If dandruff flakes are greasy and yellow, the probable cause is the skin condition known as seborrheic dermatitis; seborrhea is usually associated with redness as well. Dry, thick lesions consisting of large, silvery scales may be traced to the less common psoriasis of the scalp. These forms of dandruff -- as well as the run-of-the-mill variety - become a hazard only if you scratch to the point of causing breaks in the skin, which can place you at greater risk for infections, particularly from staph and strep bacteria

Treatment

Many over-the-counter shampoos can keep moderate dandruff in check, but consult your doctor about more stubborn forms such as seborrheic dermatitis. Some herbal remedies may relieve the itching and dryness, but it usually takes a medicated product to subdue the greasy scales.

Cleansing: Face Cleansers

Cleansing of body removes perspiration, grease, dust, stale make up, dirt and bacteria from by the skin which cannot be removed by ordinary washing of the face. Cleansing creams go deeper into the pores and wash them thoroughly. I normally cleanse my face right after I got home after a tiring day at work to get rid of those dust I got from traveling. Here are some simple tips on how to thoroughly cleanse your face.

Steps to be taken while applying cleanser

* Always tuck your hair before applying the cream to avoid making the hair greasy.
* Apply cleansing cream in generous quantity on cheeks, chin, neck and forehead.
* Massage the cream into the skin in a light upward and outward movement, concentrating on the creases near the nose, under the chin area, neck, earlobes, around the corners of the mouth.
* Use a moist cotton to remove the cream as the dry cotton absorbs the moisture from the skin and we do not want to loose that moisture.
* Repeat the cleansing process two or three times until the cotton wool comes out clean.
* he cleansing must be ideally done twice a day, once in the morning and again before going to bed

TIPS ON TANNING

The majority of self- tanners go on with no color, start to show up to 2- 4 hours after applications and last for a few days, fading gradually. Length of tan depends on individual production, as will as consistency of use. No label is going to say, ‘This product will turn you orange and streaky, yet some do just the same. The keys to success are proper applications and experimentation with a variety of products to find a perfect color match.

COMMON BEAUTY MISTAKES

I am sure you honestly didn't mean to commit a beauty no-no, you merely were stuck in a bad habit that you weren't even aware that you had. Your poor prince of a guy was probably too embarrassed to mention your lipstick to you before or maybe he was soooooh mesmerized by what came out of your lovely lips that he was caught up in a romantic blur.

However, there are some beauty no-no's that no matter what, are best avoided:

Clumpy Mascara. Mascara should thicken, lengthen and darken in a fashion that mimics real lush eyelashes.

Lining your inner eye with blue. It only "brightens" eyes on stage and looks freaky and runny in person.

Cakey Make-up. You know the kind, it gets caught in your wrinkles, ugh!

Foundation that stops at your chin. Avoid the makeup mask by blending the color down your neck.

Slashes of your contour powder. The idea is not to look like you were sideswiped by the makeup van, but you honestly have high cheekbones.

Dark roots. Only work on early Madonna or punk kids.

Wooly or over-plucked eyebrows. Eyebrows balance your eye shape and face; they should not overpower or under whelm.

Dragon Lady Nails. If you need your knuckles to use a telephone, your nails are too long.

Obvious Plastic Surgery. There is some truth to too much of a good thing.

Perfume that precedes you and then lingers behind a room. Only dogs need to leave their scent.

FACIAL AT HOME!

You don't need to go to a salon to get a first- rate beauty treatment or get a best skin care products. You can whip up everything you need in your very own kitchen with these skin care tip. These are perfect for acne skin care, beauty skin care, dry skin care and face skin care. Here’s how:

1. For dry skin. Wash your face with olive oil by pouring a few drops on a cotton ball and gently wiping your face.

2. Fill your largest cooking pot with water and bring to a boil. Add 3 chamomile tea bags and 3 peppermint tea bags. Remove the pot from the stove and find a comfy spot-- you'll need to be able to lean over the pot for at least 10 minutes.Grab a bath towel and drape it over your head and the pot, forming a tent. Don't get too close to the water, because you don't want to burn yourself. The steam bath will open your pores and loosen all the dirt and yuckies hiding in them. The next few steps will scrub all of these away. You might want to set a timer, just to make sure you have steamed a full ten minutes. Also, a shower cap will help keep your hair out of the way. Save the water for step 4

3. For facial care and acne facial and cleanser. Spray your face with your homemade astringent. (Make a solution of lemon juice and water by mixing the juice of 1/2 a lemon with 1/2 cup of water)

4. For facial scrub. Gently scrub your face with the yogurt and sugar scrub. St Ives. Apricot Scrub or any other similar exfoliating scrub works too.Wash the exfoliant off with warm water. Dip a washcloth in your left over steaming water. The water should still be warm. Cover your face with washcloth and leave for 5 minutes.

5. Apply any of these homemade mask and let dry:

a. Mayonnaise
Just apply whole egg mayonnaise on your face directly from the jar for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water. Find your skin smooth and supple at once!

b. Honey
It is well proved that honey applied directly on face and neck for about 15 minutes make your skin glow and bleaches your skin slightly too. A combination of tomato and honey is ideal for oily skin. Or banana with honey is goof for skin tightening and firms your skin very well. Take Plain Milk of Magnesia and rub on skin and let it dry later rinse off with lukewarm water.

c. Egg
Just mix one egg and 1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal and a teaspoon olive oil until smooth. Spread on your face and leave 15 min then rinse. See the difference! A combination of one egg yolk, one teaspoon honey and a teaspoon olive oil and some vitamin E oil will be great for dry skin. This keeps off dryness and provides the required moisture for your dry skin. Ideal in winter for all skin types too. You can use egg whites. All you need to do is beat well the egg white and apply directly on to your face. It dries up in no time. Results show that your skin feels clean and tight!

So there you are with all those homemade face masks straight from your kitchen aiming for a complete skin care naturally, possibly the best skin care products you can ever made! Leave for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse off with tap water. Your skin is now clean and fabulous. Now wasn't that easy?
